A new recipe idea.
Campfire triple chocolate jaffa muffins
Somebody suggested the idea of making a cake in an orange so I thought I’d test it out on a canoeing trip down the Nymboida river. It was a little involved but everyone said how great the muffins tasted I think it’s worth sharing.
It’s fairly straightforward to make these delicious orangey-chocolaty treats:
- Slice the head off of 4 orange like you would a boiled egg.
- Scoop out the internal flesh – this can be set aside for eating or drinking separately.
- Prepare a triple chocolate muffin mix as per the directions on the packet
- Spoon the muffin mixture into the hollowed out oranges and replace the ‘lids’
- Wrap in tin foil and place over hot coals, turning occasionally, for 30-45 minutes (until the centre is cooked)
- Remove the oranges from the fire and the foil from the oranges. Cut the oranges in half and scoop out the muffin with a spoon.
